Philosophy
of the Junior Development Program
To
aim provide an outstanding environment for children and adolescents
to develop their full potential as tennis players, athletes, students
and responsible young adults.

Beginning Group
Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00-5:30 PM
Purpose:
To teach the students to play tennis
Training
Plan: Teach how to hit forehand, backhand and serve (using GLM method),
scoring and the rules of the game.
Goal:
Prepare students to play USTA Junior Team Tennis and Novice Round
Robin Tournaments.
Intermediate
Group
Tuesdays through Fridays 4:30 - 5:30 PM
Purpose: To teach control and strategy using tennis strokes
Training Plan: Teach control using spin on ground strokes and serves.
Teach the net game, including approach shots, volleys and overheads.
Teach strategy in singles and doubles.
Goal: Prepare students to compete successfully in USTA Junior Satellite
Tournaments.
Advanced
Group
M-F 4:00-7:00 or 5:30 -7:00 PM
Director's permission only
Purpose: To develop individual game plans for tennis.
Training Plan: Emphasize match play strategies and percentage shot
selection in singles and doubles.
Goal : Prepare students to compete in USTA Junior Open Tournaments
to earn sectional and national ranking.
